ABOUT ABOUT

Join Spark St. Louis on Thursday, November 3rd for our Spark Artist in Residence Happy Hour honoring our Summer 2022 Spark Artist in Residence Mee Jey and Welcoming Fall 2022 Spark Artist in Residence Stan Chisholm.

South Saint Louis native Stan Chisholm works prolifically under the alias 18andCounting, building himself as an experimental music producer and multidisciplinary visual artist and educator. In 2009, he earned his Bachelors of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He’s a first round recipient of the RAC’s Artists Count Fellowship (2013), an RFT Mastermind (2010), the first DJ in residence at CAM (2018), the first artist awarded a home through the Art Place Initiative (2021) and was crowned Prom King of Eureka High School in 2005 :) Chisholm’s visual work takes an abstracted or socio-critical perspective using an ever-changing array of themes including character design, graphic abstraction, and text. Sonically, he produces hardware-driven tones of the electronic and hip-hop genres with a low tolerance for pop tactics.
